Bettie E. Sponaugle, 89, a resident of Cherry Grove, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.
She had been a resident of the Pendleton Nursing Home for several years. She was a homemaker and a member of the North Fork Brethren Church at Dry Run.
She was born July 26, 1913, at Hunting Ground, and was the daughter of the late Pet Warner and Laura Mullenax Warner.
On March 9, 1937, she married Conda R. Sponaugle, who preceded her in death on April 28, 1997.
Surviving are three daughters, Genevieve Glover, Franklin, Norma Jean Quigley, Fairfax, Va., and Brenda K. Allen, Baltimore, Md.; one son, Billy R. Sponaugle, Franklin; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends were received from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin where funeral services were at 11 a.m. today. The Rev. Dan Ludwick and the Rev.
