Betty Elizabeth Valentine Lambert, 71, a resident of Route 1, Beverly, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2002, at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.
She was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Henry Clay and Ollie Marie Chenoweth Valentine.
On Aug. 5, 1972, in Elkins, she was married to Glenn Allen Lambert, who preceded her in death on April 25, 2002.
She is survived by two brothers, William R. Valentine, Elkins, and Jack Valentine of Belington; two sisters, Jean Hale of Elkins, and Mrs. Robert L. (Inabelle) Clark Sr., Wellsburg; three nephews, Rocky and Donald Hale and Thomas Valentine; three nieces, Mrs. Glenn (Donna) Sycafoose, Mrs. Jerry (Lisa) Digman and Mrs. Mike (Nykki) Shears; and several grandnieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death was one brother, Henry Thomas Valentine.
Mrs. Lambert attended the schools of Elkins and was employed by Dutch Oven Bakery and Bata Shoe Co. She was a Protestant by faith.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
