Betty Jean Ridenour 1951-2021 Obituary
Betty Jean Lipscomb Ridenour, age 69 years, a resident of Etam, WV departed this life Wednesday afternoon, May 5, 2021 at the Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital at Kingwood, WV surrounded by her loving family. She had been in declining health although death was unexpected.
She was born Friday, December 28, 1951 at Ervin, WV, a daughter of the late Jack and Glenda Mae Bennett Lipscomb. She was formerly married to Robert T. “Bob” Ridenour, who survives.
Surviving are two daughters, Tina May Hershman of Tunnelton and April Lynn Platter of Fredrick, MD; one son, Robert Lee “Bobby” Ridenour of Etam; one brother, Charles Lipscomb of Etam; one sister, Barbara Johnson and husband Jimmy of St. George; two grandchildren, LaDonna Hershman and Angel Bolyard and husband Terry; two great-grandchildren, Madison Dawn and Emma Renee Bolyard; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death is one sister, Vickie Jones.
She attended the schools of Rowelsburg. She was a homemaker and attended the Green Valley Methodist Church. She enjoyed coloring, swimming, watching the birds and was marvelous at crafts. She was very sweet and loving.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday from 4 PM to 7 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 11 AM. The Rev. Justin Jones will officiate and interment will follow at the Flag Chapel Cemetery near Etam, WV.
