Boyd R. Tenney 1920-2002 Obituary
Boyd R. Tenney, 81, of HC 36 Box 34, Tallmansville, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at his home in Tallmansville.
He was born June 9, 1920, at Tallmansville, a son of the late David A. and Crecia Cain Tenney.
On Oct. 29, 1938, he married Margery V. Hornbeck Tenney, who survives at Tallmansville.
Also surviving are six sons, Ronald L. Tenney and Ida, Lake Wylie, S.C., Darrel R. Tenney and wife, Linda Jane, Poquoson, Va., David A. Tenney and wife, Martha, Lost Creek, Kenneth W. Tenney and wife, Crystal, Mt. Carmel, the Rev. Bradley L. Tenney and wife, Judith, Tallmansville, and Bruce S. Tenney and wife, Tammy, Yorktown, Va.; one brother, Paul C. Tenney and wife, Ada, Canal Fulton, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Tenney and Sherman A. Tenney; and two sisters, Beulah Craven and Ruby Marie Tenney.
Mr. Tenney was a coal miner for Upshur Coal Co.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines.
Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Tenney, the Rev. Mark Davis and the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Union Church Cemetery.
