Carol June King 1938-2022 Obituary
Carol June King, age 83, of Weston passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 3, 2022. She was born on February 28, 1938, in Weston a daughter of the late Delbert C. and Dorotha Mae Harper Stalnaker. She was united in marriage on November 6, 2004, to Charles L. King who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son William Michael “Mike” Woofter of Weston; one daughter Melinda “Mindy” Goldsmith and husband Sammy of Weston; one very special foster son Thomas Lake and wife Darla; two stepdaughters: Josie Ritter and husband Jim and Christine Murry and husband Pete, all of IN; ten grandchildren: Tiffiney Basham and husband Junior of GA, Danny Turner and wife Kristen of West Milford, Brandi Herrick of Weston, Randy Goldsmith and companion Brittney of Weston, Jared Woofter and wife Whitney of Jane Lew, Michaelyn Radcliff and husband Gerald of FL, Nicole, Amber, and Kristal Lake, all of Iowa, and Peter Charles Murry of IN; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother William “Bill” Stalnaker and wife Sayrann of Weston; and one sister Kathryn Evans of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was a member of the Broad Street UM Church for many years where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women Group. She first worked at the Weston Laundry and Cleaners for several years and then at the Weston State Hospital where she retired. She thoroughly loved her family and always enjoyed spending time with them especially at family gatherings and holidays.
Friends will be received at the Broad Street United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM—the funeral hour with Reverend Brian Plum and Reverend Mark Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Lewis County Memorial Park.
