Carol Lynn Timmy Arbogast Daft 1940-2020 Obituary
Carol Lynn “Timmy” Arbogast Daft left this life on Wednesday July 15, 2020 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born on March 25, 1940 at Valley Head, WV, daughter of Dwight “Buck” and Margaret Arbogast who preceded her in death.
On June 13, 1959 she was married to Bill Daft who survives at Dailey. The couple had just celebrated their 61st anniversary last month.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry Daft and wife Lynda of Dailey, Tony Daft and wife Jill of Elkins, three grandchildren, Cortney and husband Dave Simmons of Morgantown, Craig Daft and wife Megan of Elkins, Ben Daft of Elkins, one great grandchild Sullivan Daft of Elkins, one brother Mike Arbogast and wife Brenda of Bedford, VA, sisters-in-law Leona Arbogast of Dailey, Sue Daft of Elkins and Anna Mae Weese of East Dailey, plus many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Donny Arbogast of Dailey and numerous brother and sisters-in-law from her husband’s family. Timmy attended Valley Head School and graduated from Tygart Valley High School with the class of 1958.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elkins.
Timmy was employed by Randolph County Schools as a Teachers Aid for 33 years retiring in 2001.
She began working at Homestead School, then George Ward and finished at Midland.
Her kindness and loving support were known by hundreds of young children in Randolph County, many of whom have expressed their appreciation and memories of her.
Timmy loved to travel especially going to Myrtle Beach looking out over the ocean from the balcony of The Caribbean.
The entire family enjoyed a special vacation to the Virgin Islands in 2017.
She was a wonderful loving wife, mother and mamaw.
Her good natured personality earned her many close friends and left lots of fond memories.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Seders officiating.
Interment will follow in the Valley Head Cemetery. Social distancing as well as masks will be required for those in attendance at the visitation and funeral service.
