Carole Jeane Hyson Higgins 1940-2022 Obituary
Carole Jeane Hyson Higgins, 81, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Thursday, February 3, 2022, at home.
Carole was born Tuesday, October 8, 1940, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Arthur Lee Hyson and Olive June Woolwine Hyson. On July 9, 1959, in Oakland, MD, she was married to Leon Joseph “Bud” Higgins who preceded her in death January 17, 2019.
Left to cherish Carole’s memory are three children, Deborah “Debbie” McDonald and husband Jayson of Belington, Loretta “Jeannie” Bertolini of Elkins, and Robert “Robbie” Clay Higgins of Elkins, one brother, Richard Hyson, seven grandchildren, Roger “Dub” Channell, Rebecca Channell, Kathy Bennett and husband Patrick, Bethany Jo Hill and husband Levi, Parker, Liam and Ana McDonald, two great grandchildren, Paislee and Raiden, several children that considered Carole their Grandma, several nieces and nephews, her dog, Cubby, and kitten, Angel Fluff.
Carole was a graduate of Elkins High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Elkins High Alumni and an Elkins Tiger Enthusiast. She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting pandas. One of her favorite things to do was to stop at yard sales and then go out to lunch afterwards. She loved her family, being a grandparent, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 12 PM until 2 PM, the funeral hour. Bishop Larry McArthur will officiate and interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens.
