Charles Edgar “Chuck” Knotts, age 43 years, a resident of Harman, WV departed this life Sunday morning April 14, 2013 at his home. He had been in declining health although death was unexpected.
He was born Wednesday, October 29, 1969 at Kingwood, WV a son of the late Bernard Haven “Bill” Knotts and Mary Burgoyne Knotts, who survives at Masontown, WV. On May 13, 2000 at Harman, WV he was married to the former Candy Diane Cook, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Clayson David Knotts; one daughter, Collette Diane Knotts, both at home; one brother, “Bernie” Knotts and wife Julie, of Morgantown; one sister, “Missy” Mouser and husband Tim, of Gladesville; his mother and father in law, Dave and Cindy Cook; one brother in law, Dustin Cook and fiancée Tabitha, all of Harman; seven nieces and five nephews.
Preceding him in death are one infant son Collin Edgar Knotts, his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mildred Cain Burgoyne and his paternal grandparents Charles Edgar and Julia Haskiell Knotts.
He was a graduate of West Kingwood High School at Preston County with the Class of 1987, where he was a member of the football squad and was presently employed as a Supervisor by the Leer Complex, a division of Arch Coal Company. He loved to hunt, fish, go 4-wheeling and spend time with his children. He was a loving and caring husband and father.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 to 9 PM, Thursday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Friday, April 19, 2013 at 1:30 PM. The Rev. Earl Bible and Brother Claude Chaney will officiate and interment will follow at the Shays Chapel Cemetery at Tunnelton, WV.
