Charles L. Daniels 1928-2021 Obituary
Charles L. Daniels, age 93 years, a native of Elkins, and a resident of Flemington, WV, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021. He was born April 1, 1928 at Beverly, WV, a son of the late Thurman C. and Violet Kisner Daniels. On July 8, 1950 at Terra Alta, WV, he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Loudin who preceded him in death July 6, 2011. He is survived by two daughters, Jane A. Sine and Susan B. Bailey and husband Allen of Fairmont, WV; sister-in-law, Priscilla Locke Daniels of Brownsville, TN; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also preceding him in death was one son, Michael L. Daniels; son-in-law, Roger L. Sine; five sisters, Eula Cross, Norma Hannah, Betty Merritt, Carol Sines and Berle Daniels and eight brothers, Aubry, Paul, June, Jack, Alvin, Kenny, Berlin and Merlin Daniels. Charles was a graduate of Fairmont State College and West Virginia Wesleyan College and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired minister with the United Methodist Conference and an Elder with full connection with the West Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. He is a 32nd Degree Ancient Free and Accepted Mason. He was a member of the Terra Alta United Methodist Church and attended the Fetterman United Methodist Church at Grafton, WV.
Friends may call 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday with Pastor James E. Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Presentation of the American Flag will be accorded at the gravesite by members of the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard Program. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fetterman United Methodist Church, US-50 and US 310, Grafton, WV, 26354 in memory of Rev. Daniels. Masks and social distancing will be required for those attending the services. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Charles L. Daniels
