Charles L. Swecker 1923-2003 Obituary
Charles Lewis Swecker, 79, of Lithonia, Ga., formerly of Huttonsville, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2003.
He was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Huttonsville, the son of the late Rufus C. and Bessie Newhouse Swecker.
He was retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 85 and served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Lura Bonner Swecker.
Surviving are three daughters, Gloria Casey and Sharon Bauer, both of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Vivian Swecker of Lithonia, Ga.; and one son, Charles “Chuck” Swecker of Douglasville, Ga.
Also surviving are one brother, Orville Swecker of Canton, Ohio; three sisters, Edna Chaney of Mill Creek, Virginia Eye of Franklin and Dolly Cromer of Wadsworth, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Dewey, and infant sister.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel in Lithonia, Ga., with the Rev. Frederick Downing officiating. Interment followed at Dawn Memorial Park in Decatur, Ga. From 12 Sep 2003.
