Charles Lynn “Jimmy” Haller, 68, of Stephens, Ga., died today, May 23, 2002, in Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens, Ga., following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 4, 1934, at Nestorville, Barbour County, a son of the late Athy Blaine and Lottie Marie Stemple Haller.
Surviving are four daughters, Tina Callaway, with whom he made his home, Stephens, Ga., Connie Looney, Watkinsville, Ga., Carol Haller and Peggy Haller, both of Baltimore, Md.; two sons, Tim Haller, Watkinsville, and David Haller, Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Vernon E. “Bill” Haller, Moatsville; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, several grandnieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Lee Miller and Norma Gay Shaw; and one brother, Robert Haller.
Mr. Haller was a retired carpenter in heavy construction. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
Friends may call at Stemple & Forman Funeral Home in Philippi from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Roads Cemetery.
