Charles Robert DeBarr Sr., 59, of 9 1/2 Lumber St., Buckhannon, died at 10:38 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at his home in Buckhannon.
He was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Upshur County, a son of the late Willie Ford and Blanche Mae Smith DeBarr.
On Aug. 30, 1963, he married Sherry E. Wilfong DeBarr, who survives in Buckhannon.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles Robert DeBarr Jr. and Dale Wayne DeBarr, both of Buckhannon; two daughters, Judy Ann DeBarr Anderson, Belington, and Vickie Ellen DeBarr Hill, Buckhannon; two brothers, Donald DeBarr, Buckhannon, and Willie DeBarr, Wheeling; three grandsons, Joshua B. Harris, Buckhannon, and Charles Wesley Anderson and Michael Drew Anderson, both of Belington; and three granddaughters, Samantha N. DeBarr and Brinanna E. Hill, both of Buckhannon, and DeAnna B. DeBarr, French Creek.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ford DeBarr; mothers, Blanche Mae Smith DeBarr and Flora Mae Smith; and two brothers, Gerald DeBarr and Ronald DeBarr.
He worked in the finishing department for Corhart. He was a member of the K of P Lodge of Buckhannon and attended Sand Run Baptist Church.
Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday, he will be moved to Sand Run Baptist Church, where he will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Robert Poling officiating. Interment will follow in Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery in Ten Mile
