Mrs. Clara Mae Gill Mallow, 87, of Upper Tract, West Virginia passed away Monday morning, April 29, 2013 at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.

She was born August 4, 1925 at White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Joseph Harrison Gill and Effie Frances Perry Gill.

Clara moved to Pendleton County in her early teens and became the foster daughter of the late John Filmore Black and Addie Leah Mallow Black.

Clara was a homemaker, a farmer and a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church and Priscilla Circle Womens Group.

On January 14, 1949, she married Gerald R. Mallow, who preceded her in death on January 2, 2001. Surviving are – One daughter – Ann Kielar (& her husband, John) of Upper Tract, WV Two sons – Jerry L. Mallow (& his wife, Linda) of Upper Tract, WV Gary J. Mallow (& his wife, Mickey) of Kingwood, WV Six grandsons – Michael Mallow, Robert Mallow, Jay Mallow, Brian Mallow, Paden Cloud and Tyler Cloud Three great-grandchildren – Eli Mallow, Nathaniel Mallow and Kaitlyn Mallow One foster sister – Jean Hudson of Brandywine, WV And a number of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by one sister, Elva Johnson and two foster brothers, Lloyd Black and Earl Black. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church at Upper Tract, West Virginia with Pastors Jason & Jess Felici and Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Lutheran Church Cemetery at Upper Tract. Friends may call at Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street, Franklin, West Virginia anytime after 8:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at Kimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Upper Tract Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 42, Upper Tract, WV 26866.
