Daniel David Dave Newman 1953-2011 Obituary
DANIEL DAVID NEWMAN Daniel David “Dave” Newman, 57, of Junior, died Thursday morning, March 17, at the Davis Memorial Hospital.
He had been in ill health but his death was unexpected. He was born June 17, 1953, near Philippi, a son of the late Buford Carl and Doris Jane (Workman) Newman.
His wife, the former Rachel Lyvon Wentz, preceded him in death on September 3, 2009. Survivors include his fiancé, Brenda Sue Sites, of Junior; her children, Heather Petrice, Sterling McLean Jr. and Sterling McLean III, all of Junior; two sisters, Carolyn Talbott, Elkins, Sarah Ann Lambert and husband, John, Junior; a half sister, Tippi Keene and husband, Eugene, Belington; two half brothers, Robert Garcia, Belington and Ruben Garcia, Charleston; and seventeen nieces and nephews. Mr. Newman was a former lumber handler and pipline worker.
He was Nazarene by faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 19, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington.
The Rev. Richard L. Chambers will officiate and interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Friday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour, on Saturday.
