Darla Kay Edgell, 53, of Route 2, French Creek, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at United Hospital Center at Clarksburg.
She was born Aug. 24, 1948, at Buckhannon, a daughter of Mrs. Marian Phipps Winemiller Harris, who survives at Smyra, Ga., and the late Paul Theodore Winemiller.
In addition to her mother she is survived by one son, Douglas Edgell of Richmond, Va.; a special friend, Larry Carpenter of Adrian; one stepsister, Adele Millwood of Maryland; one stepbrother, Robert D. Harris of Canton, Ga.; and a special aunt and uncle, Roy and Ruth Hissam of Rock Cave.
Mrs. Edgell was a member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was state president of West Virginia Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She was an elementary school principal of Washington District Elementary School.
Private visitation and funeral services will be held at Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the Center Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Bender will officiate. At a later date a memorial service will be announced to be held at Center Chapel United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are to be made to West Virginia Alpha Delta Kappa for Camp Kno-koma in memory of Darla Kay Edgell. Donations may be made to Susan Shreve, 15-red Knob Road, Buckhannon, W.Va. 26201 or the American Cancer Society, Upshur County Chapter, Buckhannon, W.Va. 26201.
