David Wayne Tackett 1966-2021 Obituary
David Wayne Tackett, 55, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
David was born Friday, June 17, 1966, in Elkins, a son of the late Lonnie Lee Tackett and Lucille Taylor Tackett who survives in Mill Creek. He had never married.
Also left to cherish his memory are two siblings, Charlene Tackett and Barbara Tackett Roberts, both of Mill Creek, one niece, Mallory Shae Roberts, uncles, Wade Taylor and wife Margaret of Elkins, Ervin Taylor and wife Midge of OH, Jeff Taylor of Elkins, Robert Taylor of Elkins, aunts, Ruth Tackett Howard of Fairmont, Irene Tackett Phillips of Valley Bend, his Yorkie, Mia, and close friends, Mike Ball, Mike Tacy, and Darrell Shiflett.
Preceding him in death besides his father were paternal grandparents, Charley James Tackett and Hazel Currence Tackett, maternal grandparents, Wilson Junior Taylor and Freda Fortney Taylor, one brother, Jay Phillips, uncles, Paul Herron, Emery Pingley, Vane Howard, Frank Tackett, Wilson Taylor, Bill Croston, Bill Phillips, Oscar Rhodes, and Tim Harrelson, aunts, Mary “Jim” Herron, Kathleen Pingley, Lina Taylor, Tina Croston, Bonnie Rhodes, and Martha “Anna” Taylor Harrelson.
David attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed as a night clerk at the Valley View Motel in Mill Creek for thirty-five years. He enjoyed attending car shows and the races. His favorite thing to do was spend time with and spoil his only niece, Mallory.
David’s request for cremation was honored.
