Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Channell 1955-2022 Obituary
Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Channell, 66, a resident of Valley Head, passed from this life Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at home with loving family by her side and under the care of West Virginia Caring.
Debbie was born Saturday, July 23, 1955, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Dorfice A. and Gracie E. Bodkins Channell. She had never married.
Left to cherish Debbie’s memory are seven brothers, Andrew Channell and wife, Lovey, of Tinley Park, Illinois, Denzil Channell and wife, Janet, of Brewer, Maine, Don Channell and wife Natalie, of Salisbury, Maryland, Robert Channell and wife, Rosalie, of Essex, Maryland, Gerald Channell and wife, Rhonda, of Valley Head, and Steve Channell and wife, Faye, of Elkins, and Randall Channell of Mentor Ohio; five sisters, Ruth Burris of Warren Ohio, Evelyn Kronk of Sarasota, Florida, Doloris Masiers and husband, Junior, of Snellville, Georgia, Sandy Sheats and husband, Al, of Bear, Delaware, and Linda Hamrick and husband, David, of Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Debbie in death besides her parents was one sister, Helen Warner.
Debbie was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1973, and she had worked in housekeeping at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. She had taken care of her mother and father until their deaths. She was a devoted Christian and had attended the Valley Head United Methodist Church.
Debbie’s request for cremation will be honored and a private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Debbie’s honor be made to the charity of your choice.
The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Channell.
