Delbert Lorenzia Tenney 1929-2017 Obituary
Delbert Lorenzia Tenney, age 87, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his home.
He was born November 3, 1929 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Clarence and Lessie Westfall Tenney.
He is survived by his wife Mary Black; one son, Delbert Junior Tenney and Linda Taylor of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Dayton Wayne Tenney and wife Lynn and Bryan Marshall Tenney all of Buckhannon; three sisters, Genny Black, Lori Hamner and Diane McCartney and husband Richard all of Buckhannon and two brothers, Vacil Tenney and wife Jan of Akron, OH and Roger Tenney of Selbyville, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Vonnie McCartney and three brothers, Okey, Garnett and Butch Tenney. Mr. Tenney served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Conflict and was a coal miner.
Friends will be received Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Tallmansville Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the gravesite.
