Della Virginia Bickel Brown, age 71, of Rock Cave, WV died Friday, October 22, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born January 21, 1939 in Ten Mile, WV, a daughter of the late Henry C. and Rosella Payne Talbott. She is survived by her 2nd husband, Oliver D. Brown of Rock Cave; two sons, David W. Bickel and wife Linda of Huttonsville, WV and Clyde C. Bickel and wife Edith of Rock Cave; one granddaughter, Sarah Darnall and husband John of Buckhannon; three grandsons, David W. Bickel, II and wife Jennifer of Rock Cave, Michael C. Bickel and fiancé’ Amy Saunders of Buckhannon and Christopher B. Bickel of Clarksburg, WV; four step daughters; two step sons; three step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Maurice W. Bickel; two brothers, Oran and Doy Talbott and one sister, Opal Rash. Mrs. Brown was a Nurse’s Aide for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon and a member of the Canaan Community Church. Friends will be received Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 6–9 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rock Cave. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
