OBITUARY: DENNIS LYNN SHAFFER Dennis Lynn Shaffer, 63, of Moatsville, died Thursday, October 18, 2012, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born May 31, 1949, at Philippi, a son of the late Earl Thomas Shaffer and Nora Lee (Streets) Shaffer. Surviving is one sister, Jeannette Ann Summerfield and husband, Doyel; and one nephew, Doyel Kelley Summerfield Jr, all of Moatsville. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hayward Hugh Moats and Thomas Lee Shaffer. Mr. Shaffer attended the Souls Harbor Tabernacle and particularly enjoyed taking care of his cats and dog. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 21, 2012, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Bill Lanham will officiate and interment will follow in the Nestorville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. the funeral hour, on Sunday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
