DeWilla Edith Brown 1917-2002 Obituary
DeWilla Edith Brown, 85, of Greensburg, Ind., and formerly of Buckhannon, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Brown was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Gandeeville, a daughter of the late Omar and Bernice Bailey Whited.
On Dec. 21, 1934, she married Harry E. Brown, who preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1984.
Surviving are a son, Harry “Buck” Brown, Weston; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (June) Reed and Mrs. Gary (Karon Sue) McCartney, both of Greensburg, Ind.; a brother, John paul Whited, Wadsworth, Ohio; a sister, Delma Bailey, Hurricane; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lela Jane and Nancy Ann Brown; a brother, Loyd Whited; and a sister, Thelma Radcliff.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She was attended Free Methodist Church in Greensburg, Ind.
Friends were received at Tomblyn-whitescarver Funeral Home Thursday. Funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel today at 2 p.m. Interment followed in Heavner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gideons.
