Donald Eugene “Papaw” Loudin, Jr., age 52, died at his home on Cow Run Rd. in Rock Cave, WV on March 19, 2012. He was born November 22, 1959 in Buckhannon, WV to Gladys Irene Chidester and Donald Eugene Loudin, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald and his sister Judy Anne Loudin. He is survived by his mother, Gladys Chidester; one sister, Karen Loudin; two brothers, Bruce Loudin and Merrill Campbell, Jr.; wife, Tammy Loudin; three sons, Bryan, Jared and Nathaniel Loudin; grandson, Zander Don-allen Loudin; two nieces, Cheyenne and Sierra Walters as well as many other family members and friends. From a very young age he and his friend, Charlie, grew up fishing and trapping on the rivers of Indiana. As a teenager he moved to West Virginia, where he later met Tammy Jeffries, who would become his wife. They had three sons, who shared his love for the outdoors. His eldest son, Bryan, learned from him that “if you don’t do something right, don’t do it at all”. He instilled within his middle son, Jared, the philosophy that, “if it ain’t worth working for, it ain’t worth having”. Nathaniel, the youngest, attributes his work ethic of, “work hard for what you got so you respect it”, to his loving father. His brother, Merrill, who was paralyzed as a young adult, remembers Donnie always being by his side giving him words of encouragement. One of Merrill’s fondest memories was being taken on a boat by his brother, Donnie, after the accident and never feeling so free. Merrill considered Donnie not only his brother but his best friend. Donnie was a husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and friend with so much love to give. He will be truly and deeply missed by many. Friends will be recieved on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 1-3 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Friday at the funeral home. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
