Donald G. Burnside, age 88, of Rock Cave, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins. He was born March 23, 1932, in Upshur County, a son of the late Doyle and Hettie Marie Davidson Burnside.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Pickens Brown Burnside, two stepsons: Michael and Richard Brown, both of Rock Cave; six grandsons; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and best friends, Fred Harris and Jimmy Cogar.
In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tandra Jo Burnside; two sisters: Helen Marie Burnside and Betty Burnside Snyder; and four brothers: Robert, Bill, Basil and Junior Burnside.
Donald served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a school bus driver and was also retired as the former owner of the B & B Mart at Rock Cave.
The family has honored his request for cremation and graveside services will be held at a later date at the Salem Ridge Cemetery.
