Dorothy L. Collett Hopson, 78, a former resident of Wheeling, and more recently a resident of Jasper, Ind., departed this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at the Saint Charles Health Care Facility at Jasper, Ind.
She was born June 3, 1924, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Charles Collett and Stella Hill Collett.
She was married to William P. Hopson, who preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving are one daughter, Christine W. Hopson, Jasper, Ind.; one sister, Pauline V. “Polly” Armstrong and husband, Clarence, Elkins; two brothers, Harold V. Collett and wife, Simone, Estelle, Ga., and Kenneth G. Collett and wife, Patricia, Paden City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hopson; and two brothers, Richard and Charles Collett.
She was a former member of the Women’s Club of Elm Grove, the AARP of Wheeling, Homemakers and Civic Club of Elm Grove, and the Dallas Pike Baptist Church.
Friends were received at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Wheeling Sunday, July 7. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 8, at 10 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment followed at the Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens at Sherrard.
