Dorothy Lee Kisner 1926-2021 Obituary
Dorothy Lee Kisner, age 95 years, a resident of the Holly Meadows Community, Parsons, WV, departed this life early Thursday morning, May 20, 2021 at Cortland Acres at Thomas, WV. She had been in declining health.
She was born Friday, January 22, 1926 at Holly Meadows, Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Page Cross Kisner and Luella Narcissus Jones Kisner. She had never married.
She is survived by one sister Julia Ellasue Cochran of Parsons; one sister-in-law, Shelby Kisner of Parsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are four brothers, Harry R. Kisner, James Earl Kisner, Doyle Oliver Kisner and Glenn Kisner; and four sisters, Auzine Kisner, Shirley Gray, Evelyn Kisner and Freda Dumire.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School and an employee of the former Dorman Woolen Mill. She was a lifelong faithful member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church of Parsons, and she was the oldest living member of the church. Dorothy loved growing flowers and taking care of them and knew a lot about flowers. She enjoyed embroidery, birds and loved cats.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 AM. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
