Dorothy Rosamond Nutter 1920-2012 Obituary
Dorothy Rosamond Nutter, 91, of Indian Fork Road, Philippi, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, in Mansfield Place, Philippi.
She had been in declining health but her death was unexpected.
She was born December 2, 1920, at Philippi, a daughter of the late Monzell Anglin Sr. and the late Lucille Virginia (Wentz) Anglin.
On December 12, 1940, she was married to Enoch “Virgil” Nutter, who preceded her in death on August 4, 2000. Surviving are two daughters, Judith E. May, Lenoir City, Tenn., Anita May Knotts and husband, Charles, Philippi; one sister, Pauline R. Bartlett, Belington; five grandchildren, Dorothy A. (Gary) Garfield, Melissa M. (Steve) Rawls, Teresa L. (Kevin) Witkowski, Melody M. (Santo) Camacho and Tonya E. (Richard) Lambert; great grandchildren, Thomas H. Herzog, Jessica L. Barfield, Shelby L. Witkowski, Jamie E. Lambert, David A. Lambert, Jonathan C. Lambert and Colby C. Lambert. She was also preceded in death by one son, Russell “Lee” Nutter; by a son-in-law, Wylie J. May; by one great granddaughter, Cierra Dawn Summerfield and by her brother, Monzell Anglin Jr.
Mrs. Nutter was a homemaker and was formerly associated with the A. and M. Hardware and Builder’s Center, both of Philippi and was a former employee of the housekeeping department at Alderson – Broaddus College and was a Senior Companion.
She attended the Silent Grove Church.. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 5, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi.
Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour, on Thursday.
