Dorton Daniel Smallridge 1915-2002 Obituary
Morton Daniel Smallridge, 86, of HC 36, Box 328, Tallmansville, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at his home in Tallmansville.
Mr. Smallridge was born Oct. 6, 1915, in Alton, a son of the late Charles Marshall and Allie Elizabeth Zirkle Smallridge.
On Jan. 20, 1941, he married Avis Tenney Smallridge, who preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2001.
Surviving are five daughters, Christine Reed, Wilma Whitlock Navonda Tenney and Twila Williams, all of Buckhannon, and Janet Robinson, French Creek; five sons, Vernon Wayne Smallridge, Tallmansville, Daniel Smallridge, Theron Smallridge and Nola Smallridge, all of Ten Mile, and Farrel Smallridge, Buckhannon; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Smallridge; one sister, Myrtle Zickefoose; one grandson, Chad Smallridge; and one son-in-law, David Reed.
He was a custodian for Corhart.
Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery, in care of Robert Landis, HC 36, Tallmansville, W.Va. 26237.
