Douglas Grant “Dougie” Pennington Jr, 38, a resident of Montrose, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Doug was born Monday, December 20, 1976, in Parsons, a son of the late Douglas Grant Pennington Sr. and Louise Pennington-pritt, who survives in Montrose. On September 1, 2007 in Elkins, he married the former Brenda Sue Petrice who survives in Montrose. Also left to cherish his memory are four children, Rachel, Dillon, Richie and Frankie Pennington, step-father Don Pritt, five siblings, Tina Phillips of Montrose, Crystal Pennington and fiancé Leon Sherman of Montrose, Deanna Waybright and husband Michael of Elkins, Dale Pennington and wife Norma of Parsons and Michael Bates and wife Debora of Montrose, special niece and nephew, Addisyn Waybright and Wyatt Sherman and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Preceding Doug in death besides his father were two brothers, Ben and TC Pennington. Doug attended Elkins High School and was employed as a truck driver at Savage Services. He was a devoted husband and wonderful and loving father. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, NASCAR and was a huge West Virginia fan. A visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home Wednesday from 5P-7P. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00A. Rev. Adam Snyder will officiate and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery.
