ELIZABETH “LORRAINE” GUIRE KILLINGSWORTH, age 80 years, a former resident of Stuarts Draft, VA and more recently a resident of Wilson Lane, Elkins, WV departed this life Thursday morning, December 10, 2009 at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.
She was born Sunday, April 28, 1929 at Mabie, WV a daughter of the late Frank Guire and Julia Belan Guire. She was married to Richard Glenn Killingsworth, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, David L. Killingsworth, Sr., and wife Janet; Gary Lee Killingsworth and wife Anna; Bobby G. Killingsworth and wife Marion; all of Staunton, VA; two sisters, Mary Francis Shepherd and husband Earl, Chester; Kathryn Fleece, Mabie; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; and one special friend, Amantha Currence.
Preceding her in death are one brother, Thomas Joseph Guire and one sister Judith Lee Elmore.
She was a graduate of Coalton High School with the Class of 1947. She was a loom operator for the Wayne Tech Company for many years, retiring in 1991. She was a noted cook and an avid reader.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 10 AM to 11:15 AM, Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at which time she will be moved to the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at Coalton where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon. The Very Reverend Donald X. Higgs, VF will be the Presider and interment will follow at the Saint Brendan Cemetery at Elkins, West Virginia.
