Easter Lilly Wingate, 58, of Buckhannon Manor, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 16, 1943, at Brooks Hill, a daughter of Effie Butcher Lewis, who survives.
She is survived by her first husband, Harold Claude Humphrey Sr. of Pricetown. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Kenny Wingate.
She is also survived by two daughters, Linda L. Rowan of Volga, and Brenda Jones of Buckhannon; one son, Harold Humphrey Jr. of Buckhannon; eight grandchildren, Charlotte Carpenter of Jacksonville, N.C., John Humphrey and Michael Humphrey, both of Buckhannon, Sheila and Shelley Rowan, both of Volga, Travis, Heidi and Kody Humphrey, all of Buckhannon; four brothers, George Huffman of Elyria, Ohio, Leon Bender, Dave Bender and Randy Bender, all of Buckhannon; four sisters, Eden Bender, Donna Baughman, Daisy Ware and Faye Bender, all of Buckhannon.
Mrs. Wingate was a hospice volunteer. She had formerly worked as an aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She attended the Liberty in Christ Church.
Friends will be received at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Heavner officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Dale Cemetery at Selbyville.
