Edna Elizabeth “Betty” Bright, 75, a resident of Mill Run, Hendricks, departed this life Saturday evening, Dec. 28, 2002, at her home. She had been in declining health for several years and death was attributed to cancer.
She was born Feb. 21, 1927, at Grafton, a daughter of the late Robert Jackson Jones and Edna Hilberry Jones.
On Feb. 18, 1946, she was married to Glen Ruford Bright, who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Hugh C. Bright and Bonnie, Mill Run, and Dwight D. Bright and Carolyn, Hendricks; one brother, Richard Jones and Barbara; and one sister, Iola Morgan, all of Grafton; and three grandchildren, Harold Bright and Nancy Hedrick, both of Belington, and Ruford Bright of Philippi.
She was preceded in death by two infant sons, Glenn Edward Bright and Terry Lynn Bright; one brother, Howard Jones; and one sister, Harriet Carr.
She attended the schools of Grafton and was a homemaker. She was an avid reader and noted cook.
The family will receive friends at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Tuesday at 9 a.m. The Rev. John Morrison will officiate and interment will follow at the National Cemetery at Pruntytown. The Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Edna Elizabeth Bright.
