Edna N. Bowers Triplett, 82, a former resident of Elkins, and a resident of Belleville, where she made her home with her daughter, Norma Woods, passed away at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 15, 1919, at Glady, a daughter of the late Jacob and Bessie Fleming Bowers.
She was twice married. First, she married Emmett Cook, who preceded her in death in 1949, and later to Harry J. Triplett, who died on Jan. 24, 1992.
She is survived by one son, Emmett J. Cook Jr., Holidaysburg, Pa.; two daughters, Norma Lee Woods, Belleville, and Linda McCauley of Elkins; three sisters, Juanita Bodkins of Elkins, Margaret Craigs, Cleveland, Ohio, and Louise Mariner of Baltimore, Md.; 13 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were five brothers, five sisters, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Triplett was a homemaker and was employed in the housekeeping department of the Memorial General Hospital prior to retirement in 1985.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins.
