Edward H. Lanham 1922-2002 Obituary
Edward H. Lanham, 79, a resident of the Audra Road in Belington, departed this life at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, following a three-week illness.
He was born July 20, 1922, at Clarksburg, a son of the late Hartzel B. and Daisey Kesling Lanham.
He was formerly married to Maxine Jackson, who survives at Philippi.
Also surviving are one son, Gary Lee Lanham Sr., Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Lisa Ann Everson, Belington, and Linda McKnight, Bridgeport; three brothers, Wilbert Leo Lanham, Atwater, Ohio, John Lanham, Atwater, Ohio, and Ralph Lanham, Buckhannon; three sisters, Anna Mae Sneeburger, Florida, Madeline Pizzno, Grafton, and Emma Gay Louran, Michigan; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Lanham was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a retired coalminer and a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and on Friday until 11 a.m., the funeral hour, when services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with Evangelist Michael Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Kesling Mill Cemetery in Kesling Mill, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 44 of Philippi.
