Edwin Junior Carte, 83, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020, at his residence.
Ed was born Dec. 14, 1936, in Alderson, a son of the late Ray and Pearl (Bennett) Carte.
Ed was united in marriage to his wife of 64 years, Maxine (Bolyard) Carte, who survives at home.
Also surviving are son, Edwin Carte Jr. of Moatsville; step-children, Ron Root of Bluemont, Va. and Loretta Roberts of Bridgeport; sister, Joyce Knight of Clarksville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by brothers, Russell and Bennie Carte.
He was a member of Carpenters Union Local No. 1590. Ed was an avid farmer.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday, Nov.r 8, from 2-8 p.m. and on Monday Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Pastor Todd Mouser officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
