Elizabeth Ellen Stine Swank, 51, a resident of 1352 Conway St., Greensburg, Pa., and 308 Davis St., Elkins, departed this life on Friday afternoon, Sept. 13, 2002, at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins. She had been in her usual health and death was attributed to cardiac arrest.
She was born Feb. 18, 1951, at Altoona, Pa., a daughter of the late Guyer Taft Stine and Elizabeth Ellen Diggins Stine.
Surviving are her fiance, J. Michael “Mike” Sakole, Elkins; one daughter, Tammy Lynn Swank Ayers and husband, James William Ayers, Fayetteville, N.C.; one son, Howard Vincent Swank Jr. and wife, Sharon Egenlauf Swank, McKeesport, Pa.; four brothers, John Stine and Harry Stine, Harrisburg, Pa.; Richard Stine, Altoona, Pa., and Ronnie Stine, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Kay Waite, Boykins, Va., and Colleen Stine, Julian, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Stine; and one sister, Linda Joy Stine.
She was a graduate of Altoona High School with the class of 1968. She was owner and operator of a catering business and catered for different events and functions. She was a member of the Congregational Emanuel Israel Synagogue, was a wonderful cook and enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, crocheting, arts, crafts and horticulture.
Cremation services were provided by Lohr & Barb Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
