Etta Kathleen “Katie” Bailey, 83, of Niles, OH passed away Monday evening, Dec. 13, 2010 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Born February 16, 1927 in Cubana, WV, Katie was the daughter of the late Herbert and Hazel (Simmons) Poling. Katie was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of the Central Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Harry Bailey of Niles whom she married June 16, 1946, two children, Philip H. Bailey and Deborah K. Flenner both of Niles, four grandchildren; Michele Agosta, Kyle Bailey and Michael and Derek Krummel, four great grandchildren; Kayla, Liam, Hunter and Sophia, four brothers; Lawrence Poling of Warren, OH, Robert Poling of Buckhannon, WV, Arden Poling of Akron, OH and Archie Poling of Buckhannon and three sisters; Wilda Slaughter of Buckhannon, Lucille Gillespie of Niles and Freeda Murphy of Morgantown, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Karen Ann Bailey and three brothers; Wilmer, Howard and Elmer Poling. Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at the Lane Funeral Homes, Niles Chapel from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at 2 PM the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon, WV where family and friends may visit for two hours prior to the funeral service with the Rev. Robert Poling officiating. Burial will take place in the Bailey Cemetery, Buckhannon, WV. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
