BETTY JEAN WEBLEY, age 81 years, departed this life Tuesday morning January 4, 2011 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center in Elkins. She was born Thursday, August 1, 1929 at Glady, WV a daughter of the late Sam Arbogast and Pearl Bowers Arbogast. On July 24, 1948 at Elkins, WV she was married to Howard Webley; they had celebrated 62 years of marriage. Surviving are two sons: Edgar Howard Webley and wife Kim, NC; Jeffery James “Jimmy” Webley, and wife Roxanne, Elkins. Two daughters: Olive Virginia Dadisman, and husband Tom, Grafton; Audrey Paxton and husband Roger, NC. She is survived by several brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
She attended the one room school of Glady, and the two room school of Poe Run. She had worked for the Randolph County Board of Education as a cook, at the Poe Run School for many years; and the former Western Auto, of Elkins. She was a noted cook and attended the Wayside United Methodist Church. At Mrs. Webley’s request there will be no funeral services.
Betty and Howard’s request for cremation was honored. A Graveside Service will be held, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11 AM at the American Legions Little Arlington Cemetery at Cravensdale, WV with full military honors being accorded by members of the U. S. Navy, the H. W. Daniels Post # 29, American Legion and the Tygarts Valley Post # 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Inurnment will follow.
