EUGENE BOHON 1930-2011 Obituary
EUGENE BOHON, age 80 years, a resident of the Hannahsville Community, St. George, WV departed this life Monday evening, April 25, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s.
He was born Wednesday, October 15, 1930 at St. George, WV, a son of the late Claude Lincoln Bohon and Addie Mae Gower Bohon Keller. On October 3, 1953 at St. George, WV, he was married to the former Virginia Ruth Robinson Bohon, who survives. They had celebrated fifty seven years of marriage.
Also surviving are two sons, Eugene “Rob” Bohon and wife Marsha, Randall Lee Bohon and Linda: two daughters, Roxanna Virginia Akerley and Regina Lynn Falls and husband Farren, all of St. George, WV; one brother, Erwin Bohon of OH; one step brother, Denzil Keller and wife Edna of St. George; four sister in laws, Virginia and Ellen Bohon, both of OH, Gladys J. Moore and Patricia J. Gower and husband Donley, both of OH; two brother in laws; James Robinson of OH. and William R. Robinson and wife Cathy of St. George; six granddaughters, Shylo, Rachael, Sheyenne, Rosanna, Tara and Angel; one grandson, Taylor; five great grandchildren, Savannah, Kelvin, John, Lilly and Kenley; five step grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Missy, Pat and Rick and seven step great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Lyle and Edward Bohon and one son in law; Richard Akerley; step brother, Denton Keller, Father and Mother in Law, Bill and Tillie Robinson, step grandson, Kenny Akerley; brother in law, Beckham Moore, sister in laws, Gladys Bohon and Phyllis Robinson.
He attended the school at St. George and was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1949. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a stock chaser for the Ford Motor Co. at Cleveland, OH. for thirty years and was the owner and operator of Bohon Tire for fifty years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Amos H. Englebeck Lodge # 751 F. & A.M. of Akron, OH. He attended the Macodonia Methodist Church at St. George, WV. He loved camping, hunting and spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2 PM. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows, where the H.W. Daniels Post #29 American Legion and the Tygart Valley Post #3647 Veterans of Foreign War and the Tucker Co. Veterans Assoc. will conduct full military honors.
