Forrest L. White, 48, a resident of Catawba, Va., passed away Friday morning, July 19, 2002, in the Roanoke General Hospital in Roanoke, Va.
He was born July 6, 1954, at Hambleton, the son of the late Forrest Harvey White and Alice White Helmick, who survives at Beverly.
He was twice married, first to Bonnie M. White and later to Shirley Johns White, who survives at Catawba.
Also surviving are one son, William White, Roanoke, Va.; one stepson, Timothy Johns and wife, Sierra, Rocky Mount, Va.; two daughters, Susan White and Merry White, both of Roanoke, Va.; six brothers, Robert “Bob” White, Roanoke, Va., Dennis White and wife, Debbie, New Castle, Va., Kenneth White, Kingsport, Tenn., Scottie White, Dailey, and Harold White and Roger White and wife, Nancy, all of Beverly; two stepbrothers, Ralph Junior Helmick, Parsons, and Lester Allen Helmick, Elkins; two sisters, Nelda Kisner and Pamela McSpadden and special friend Bob Peters, all of Beverly; two stepgrandchildren, Britteny Johns and Warren Timothy Johns Jr.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Also preceding him in death were his stepfather, Ralph W. Helmick; three brothers, William, James and Carl White; and a sister, Margaret Roby.
Mr. White was disabled and was an avid hunter.
Friends were received at the Tomblyn Funeral Home today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Shirley Shreve officiated and interment followed in the Collett Cemetery near Hambleton.
