Fred Louis Wolford 2013-2001 Obituary
Fred Louis Wolford, 88, formerly of Route 1, Belington, and of Mon Pointe Continuing Care in Morgantown since 1997, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, in Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
Mr. Wolford was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Jenningston, a son of the late Levi Wesley and Rose Anne Long Wolford.
Surviving is a daughter, Pat Wolford, Los Angeles, Calif.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sammy and Snowden Wolford.
Mr. Wolford was a member of Civilian Conservation Corp. during the 1930s and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army.
He was a coal miner working for Compass Coal Co. at Elk City.
He later worked as a rural mail carrier in Randolph County.
He worked at Kingsford Charcoal Co. and retired from Masketeers in Belington.
He was a member of H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion.
