Freda A. Balli, 87, formerly of Pickens and of Volga, where she made her home with a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Louie Jones, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
Ms. Balli was born May 1, 1914, in Pickens, a daughter of the late John and Hulda Heller Balli.
Surviving are two sisters, Martha Jones and Anna Balli, both of Volga; two nieces, a nephew, three great-nieces, two great-great-nieces and two great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Balli; five sisters, Alma Fortune, Olga Harris, Rosa Marts, Gertrude Balli and Helena Balli; and a great-niece.
Ms. Balli was a retired farmer. She made Swiss cheese and butter from her family farm in Webster County. She was a Protestant by faith.
Friends were received at Tomblyn-whitescarver Funeral Home Sunday.
Funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel today at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lejune Lewis officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Pickens.
