Freddie Arbogast, 72, a life long resident of Valley Head and a patient of Colonial Place since April, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at 2:30 a.m.
He was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Valley Head, a son of the late Walter and Eva Abrogast.
He had never married.
He is survived by two sisters, Edith Swecker of Valley Head, and Lillian Dodrill of Valley Head; one brother, Troy Arbogast of Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were four brothers, Raymond, Orval, Junior and Robert Keith Arbogast.
He was a clerk for various stores in the Valley Head area, including Bill Marshall’s and Harris Morris. He was employed at Labcraft.
He was a member of the Friendship Community Church, where he served as trustee and took care of the church for several years. He was a Baptist by faith.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends will be received at Friendship Community Church Wednesday after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the church on Thursday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Eddie Kyle, pastor of the church will officiate. Interment will follow at Valley Head Cemetery in Valley Head. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Freddie Arbogast.
