Frederick S. Knutti, age 80 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Inpatient Center in Elkins.
He was born December 4, 1940 at Bowden, WV a son of the late John Howard Knutti, Sr. and the late Adelaide Fullmer Knutti.
On November 24, 1966 at Junior, WV he was married to Lorena Carol Miller who preceded him in death January 7, 2005.
Surviving is one daughter, Lisa Knutti of Elkins; two brothers, John H. Knutti and wife Peggy and Emil Knutti and wife Melanie all of Elkins; two sisters, Joyce K. Sperow of Barkhamsted, CT and Elizabeth B. Knutti of Morgantown, WV and special friends, Suzanne Thompson and Connie Marstiller and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death was a brother, Reginald Knutti, a sister, Ethelyn Bell, three sisters-in-law, Carol Knutti, Paula Carpenter and Evelyn Knutti and three brothers-in-law Howard Bell, William Sperow and Jonas Swecker.
Mr. Knutti attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Huttonsville Correctional Center for many years prior to his retirement.
He attended the First United Methodist Church in Elkins.
He was named State Grandfather for the West Virginia Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliaries 2018-2019.
To insure the safety of family and friends during the pandemic, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the Mount Castle Cemetery at Valley Furnace, WV. Rev.
Brian L. Seders will officiate and interment will follow.
Those attending the service are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing.
