Fredrick Dean Pennington, age 61 years, a resident of Hodgesville, WV passed away Tuesday November 3, 2020 at his home.
He was born July 1, 1959 a son of Roy D. and Jill Moore Pennington who survives in Buckhannon.
Also surviving is one daughter, Tiffany Fawn Curtis and husband Joshua of Winston Salem, NC; one brother, Mark Lee Pennington and wife Tammy of Beaver, PA; and one nephew, Justin Allen Pennington of Grafton, WV.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jakob Alexander and Maddox Dean Curtis of Winston Salem, NC and his companion, Sandra Riffle of Buckhannon. He was preceded in death by one brother, Allen Wayne Pennington. Frederick was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1977 and a Veteran of the United States Navy. He had previously been employed by Asplundh Tree Service. In his spare time, he enjoyed making knives and he attended the Buckhannon Church of God.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins. Pastor Frank Spears will officiate and interment will follow. Full military honors will be accorded by members of the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard Program, HW Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Masks and social distancing are recommended for those attending the graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice in memory of Fredrick. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Fredrick Dean Pennington.
