OBITUARY: FREDRICK L. DALTON Fredrick Leon Dalton, 73, of Spaw Lick Road, Philippi, died Saturday evening, December 8, in the Broaddus Hospital , following an unexpected illness. He was born August 20, 1939, at Thornton, a son of the late Bryden Henry and Bessie Mae (Kennedy) Dalton. On June 5, 1961, he married the former Patricia L. Dalton, who survives at their home. Also surviving are two sons, Fred Jr. Dalton, at home, Frank Jr. Kennedy who was the same as a son, Philippi; four daughters, Cathy Robey and husband, Bob, Cumberland, MD, Shirley Chisolm and companion, Donnie, Elkins, Donna Collins and husband, Eugene, Malvern, OH, Abby Kennedy and husband, Hans, Moatsville; three sisters, Yvonne Mayle, Tona Johnson and Mary Kennedy, all of Philippi; four brothers, Joseph “Jack” Dalton and Jerry Dalton, both of Philippi, Julius Dalton and Roger Dalton, both of Canton, OH, grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Chisolm, Jared and Carrie Collins; great grandsons, Gavin Peddicord and DeShaun Chisolm. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Laco Dalton and Delmas Dalton. Mr. Dalton was retired from the maintenance department of the Barbour County Board of Education. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 12, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Woodsdale Memorial Gardens at Grafton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour, on Wednesday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
