Garnett E. Boggs, 91, of Ireland, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Crest View Manor in Jane Lew.
Mrs. Boggs was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Roy and Delia Hamner Cooper.
She married Walter Guy Boggs, who preceded her in death in August of 1966.
Surviving are two sons, Keith and daughter in-law, Shirley Boggs, of Walkersville, and Kenneth Boggs of Jane Lew; four daughters, Irene and son-in-law, Frances Fisher, of Weston, Helen and son-in-law, Charles Pickens, of Ireland, Audra and son-in-law, Tab Farrar, of Buckhannon, and Pearl Singleton of Ireland; 21 grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Reta Ware of Ireland; and one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Bogs.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers, two sons, Clarence J. Boggs and Walter Guy Boggs Jr.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was a housewife and a member of Elijah Chapel Church of Bablin.
Friends will be received at Alkire Funeral Chapel today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Doug Smailes officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery.
