Gayle O. Lane 1926-2002 Obituary
Gayle O. Lane, 76, of Rock Cave, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at his home.
He was born in Upshur County, July 6, 1926, a son of the late John R. and Elizabeth Sims Lane.
He is survived by one daughter, Theresa Stencil of Amherst, Ohio; one son, Terry Lane of Amherst, Ohio; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Dortha Carroll of Glenford, Ohio, and Leahbell “Boots” Friend of Buckhannon.
He was preceded in death by one brother, the Rev. Lester “Stick” Lane; and two sisters, Mabel “Peg” Linger and Onita “Patty” Smith.
Mr. Lane was a veteran serving with the U.S. Navy.
Friends will be received at Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Kanawha Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Michelle Goss will officiate. Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
