George A. Nutt, 88, of Memphis, Tenn., and formerly of Elyria, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, in St. Francis Hospital in Memphis following a brief illness.
Mr. Nutt was born in Shock, a son of the late Mack Sr. and Drusilla Nutt.
He was married for 67 years to Leota Casto, who survives
Also surviving are two sons, Darius D., Memphis, Tenn., and Daniel W., Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Carter, Buckhannon; and three brothers, Hayward, Lakeland, Fla., and Martin Dale and Mack Jr., both of Lake Placid, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard D., in 1949; two sisters, Bulah and Maxine; and three brothers, Orval, Ernest and Nole.
Mr. Nutt lived in Elyria most of his life. He was the head racemaker for General Motors, Fisher Guide Division in Elyria for 23 years before retiring in 1974.
The Rev. Walter Spieth, associate pastor of LaGrange Baptist Church officiated at funeral services in Elyria. Burial was in Camden Cemetery in Camden Township.
