George Allen “Jamwich” Jones 1978-2021 Obituary
George Allen “Jamwich” Jones, age 42 years, a former resident of Coalton, WV and more recently a resident of Martinsburg, WV, departed this life Thursday evening, March 25, 2021 at his home.
He was born Sunday, November 19, 1978 at Elkins, WV a son of Bradley Keith and Mary Alice Blakely Jones, who reside at Coalton. He had never married. Also surviving are one sister, Emily Ruth Holcomb and husband Michael of Harrison County, WV; one nephew, Michael Scott Holcomb II; one niece Annelise Ruth Holcomb, both of Harrison County, WV; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as many friends in the Martinsburg area.
Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, George Blakely and Alice Emily Blakely; and his paternal grandparents, Bernard Allen Jones and Virginia Ruth Jones.
George was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1997 and attended Concord University. He had worked as an IT Computer Tech for several years, and later worked for Penn Liquors of Martinsburg. He enjoyed Jam Fest and along with his friends published Appalachian Jamwich Magazine. He loved his cat “Tao”.
Mr. Jones’ request for cremation was honored. A Private Graveside Service will be held at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
