George L. Burgess 1969-2003 Obituary
George L. Burgess, 33, of Green Bank, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at home.
He was a timber cutter and a member of the Church of God.
He was born June 24, 1969, in Marlinton, a son of Virginia Tyree Burgess, who survives in Marlinton, and the late Patrick Wesley Burgess.
He was twice married; first, to Kimberly Wegman of Beverly, and second to Daphine Brown.
Also surviving are a son, William Wesley Burgess of Beverly; six sisters, Vada Boback, Morgantown, Helen Harlow, Selma, Va., Wanda Blankenship and Kitty Miller, both of Marlinton, Linda Wilson, North Wilkesboro, N.C., and Susan Castle, Virginia; four brothers, Ethan Burgess, Marlinton, Rocky Burgess, Lake Butler, Fla., Billy Pennington, North Wilkesboro, N.C., and Tom Pennington of Jane Lew.
Preceding him in death in addition to his father were a sister, Peggy Vandevender; and two brothers, James and Ronald Pennington.
Burial services were performed Jan. 7 in the Cochran Cemetery in Marlinton.
